Technology work can be difficult enough without wondering what the final bill is going to look like.
Where the work is straightforward, FRUKIT publishes its standard rates. Where a job needs investigation, research or significant preparation, we’ll first work out what’s involved and give you a clear quotation.
First Look — Free
Before any paid work begins, we can have an initial conversation about your problem, what you’re trying to achieve and whether FRUKIT is the right place to help.
There’s no charge and no obligation.
Sometimes the answer will be straightforward. Sometimes it will need more investigation. And sometimes I’ll tell you that someone else is better placed to help.
That’s all part of the service.
Standard rates
€100 per hour
For straightforward work where the time involved can reasonably be measured as we go.
€350 — Half day
Up to 4 hours of agreed work.
€650 — Full day
Up to 8 hours of agreed work.
Block bookings provide a lower effective hourly rate where you know you need a larger amount of time.
Fixed-price projects
Not every job can sensibly be charged by the hour.
If your project involves research, investigation, preparation, development, reporting, several stages of work or an uncertain amount of time, we’ll assess what’s involved and provide a fixed quotation before the paid work begins.
That means you know what you’re committing to before we start.
If I underestimate the work required to deliver the agreed project, that’s my problem, not yours.
If you decide to change the scope of the project, we’ll discuss what that means and agree any additional cost before continuing.
What about private customers?
The standard commercial rate is €100 per hour, but FRUKIT isn’t intended to make technology help inaccessible to people who genuinely need it.
Reduced rates may be available for private individuals, students, young people, charities and people with limited means or particular circumstances.
Every situation is different, so rather than publishing a blanket discount, please ask.
We’ll agree the applicable rate before any paid work begins.
Getting started
For project work, a 50% payment is normally required before work begins, with the balance payable according to the agreed project terms.
For hourly or day-rate work, we’ll agree the expected scope and payment arrangements beforehand.
You’ll never be asked to commit to an open-ended piece of paid work without understanding how it will be charged.
What if you don’t know what you need?
That’s fine.
